 Subject: Increased terrorism threat

Following the tragic attacks that took place on 13 November 2015 in Paris, it seems that more needs to be done to prevent terrorists and criminals from travelling between Member States, and to reduce the availability of illicit weapons and explosives. Urgent action is needed to guarantee the security of citizens of our countries, and to safeguard their freedoms, while enhancing the fight against extremism and terrorism.

1. To what extent is there evidence of problems with regard to information-sharing within and between Member States?

2. What improvements are recommended in order to prevent the movement of criminals and illicit weapons between Member States?

3. What further measures do the Member States and Frontex plan to introduce in order to prevent extremists from entering the EU through its external borders?
