13. Composition of Parliament
The Italian authorities had given notice of the election of Nicola Zingaretti and Giuseppe Bova to offices incompatible with that of a Member of the European Parliament under Article 7(3) of the Act concerning the election of members of the European Parliament by direct universal suffrage.
Parliament took note of this and, in accordance with Rule 4(1), established that the seats were vacant with effect from 17.06.2008.

The Italian authorities had given notice of the appointment of Rapisardo Antinucci, Domenico Antonio Basile and Maria Grazia Pagano, in place of Nicola Zingaretti, Adriana Poli Bortone and Giuseppe Bova, as Members of the European Parliament with effect from 17.06.2008.
Under Rule 3(2), until such time as their credentials had been verified or a ruling had been given on any dispute, and provided that they had previously made a written declaration stating that they did not hold any office incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament, Rapisardo Antinucci, Domenico Antonio Basile and Maria Grazia Pagano would take their seats in Parliament and on its bodies and would enjoy all the rights attaching thereto.
