  1.   A total of EUR 174 million was set aside for Burundi under the 20032007 country strategy programme.

 

Last year, EUR 25 million was allocated to Burundi to support foreign troops on the ground there as part of the peace process (implementation of the Arusha Agreement). However, these troops do not always behave correctly towards the local population.

 

How can the Commission ascertain the manner in which this money is actually spent?

 

  1.   The eighth EDF earmarked a total of EUR 75 000 for a thorough evaluation of the repatriation of refugees.

 

Can the Commission indicate the findings of and the most important recommendations made by the evaluation of the refugee repatriation programme and the delicate fundamental questions linked thereto?
