The weight of the social economy in Europe

Will the Commission please specify whether the economic weight of the European social economy has ever been quantified, in particular through statistical studies showing what contribution, in terms of GDP and employment, this sector makes to the European economy as a whole?

If no such figures exist, will the Commission specify whether it is planning an initiative in this field, using which methodology and within what time frame?
