Although political agreement in principle on the regulation on public passenger transport services by rail and by road (COD/2000/0212) was reached between Parliament and the Council in May 2007, the legal act has, regrettably, yet to be published. This not only delays its application, but makes it more difficult for ordinary people to understand the work of the European institutions.
- —When will the regulation in question be published in the Official Journal?
- —How long does it take, on average, between political agreement being reached on a text and its publication?
- —Why does it take so long between political agreement and publication?
- —What can the Council and Parliament do to ensure that legal acts are published as soon as possible after political agreement has been reached?
