Planning regulations in Ireland

WRITTEN QUESTION E-0317/08
by Mary Lou McDonald (GUE/NGL)
to the Commission

In October last year it was reported that the Irish Government had sent a dossier to the Commission addressing concerns the Commission had raised about planning regulations in Ireland.

Can the Commission state if it intends to pursue any further action relating to this matter?

Does the Commission have a problem with local planning rules which contain language requirements such as the ability to speak Irish?
