The Tuscany Region: 2000‑06 structural fund spending and 2007‑13 programming progress

WRITTEN QUESTION E-1497/09
by Paolo Bartolozzi (PPE‑DE)
to the Commission

The deadline for spending resources relating to the 2000‑06 period passed on 31 December 2008, under Community regulations.

In the past the Tuscany region has been considerably late in carrying out ‘Agenda 2000’ spending, and the 2007‑13 programming is also far behind schedule.

Will the Commission make available all information, both quantitative and qualitative, relating to the 2000‑06 programming of structural funds for Tuscany, in particular with regard to public spending commitments and the corresponding payments made, in terms of amounts, the beneficiaries of funds allocated, the type of measures taken and the co-financed ‘support projects’?

Will it disclose the amount (the actual figure and as a percentage) of spending declared on 31 December 2008 by the Tuscany Region in relation to the resources allocated for the 2000‑06 period?

Lastly, will the Commission provide a detailed report on the progress made in the implementation of the ROP — ERDF and of the other Operational Programmes for 2007‑13?
