Authorisation of the use of pesticides

Question for written answer E-006725/2011
to the Commission
Rule 117
Stéphane Le Foll (S&D)

A matter relating to the authorisation of the use of pesticides in farming was recently brought to my attention. It would appear than in recent times in France a more flexible approach to their use has been adopted.

In its capacity as guardian of EC law and of the proper application of secondary legislation on pesticides, can the Commission confirm that this is the case in France?

If it is, how can it explain this more permissive attitude towards the use of pesticides?
