Question for written answer
to the Commission
Rule 117
Timothy Kirkhope (ECR)

Subject: Glyphosate — using Monsanto's research on the substance to inform decisions on its safety for use

Is using Monsanto’s own research data on Glyphosate a sound basis scientifically to proceed, given their vested interest and refusal to open test results to inspection in the scientific publication system?

Is the Commission aware of the work done by scientists in India, France and Australia reviewing such material supplied by Monsanto, which shows it lacks scientific rigour?

Is the Commission aware of Seralini’s work which shows that the adjuvants used with Glyphosate to make it effective escalate the health impacts on humans? The toxicology of Glyphosate alone is irrelevant as it is never used on its own.

Would not the correct scientific response be to repeat the work independently of Monsanto to see if the results are replicated?
