There are still tens of thousands of missing persons whose ghosts haunt Europe decades after the demise of dictatorships and the end of armed conflicts.

1. Do the European Union and its Member States intend to set up an efficient national legislative framework on missing people in Europe?

2. Does the Commission consider that ratification and enforcement by the Member States of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance would be a further step in the right direction?
