According to a Human Rights Watch (HRW) report, practices such as involuntary admission and arbitrary detention in mental hospitals and residential care institutions are prevalent across India. In these facilities, women and girls with psychosocial and/or intellectual disabilities are subjected to overcrowding, poor hygiene, inadequate access to general healthcare, forced treatment — including electroconvulsive therapy — and physical, verbal and sexual violence.

Is the EU planning to respond to this violation of human rights across India?
