I have been contacted by a constituent on behalf of the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations (TIHR). My constituent is concerned by action being taken by the European Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
My constituent tells me that the TIHR has membership to the Menon Network European Economic Interest Group (EEIG), an umbrella organisation that is currently being held to account by the EACEA for the actions of one of its members.
My constituent claims that the ‘EACEA is alleging without any substantiating evidence that Menon EEIG acted as a cover-up to this particular member and has taken a number of actions including the premature termination of projects and suspensions of payments,’ in a move that has directly impacted on funding at the TIHR.
Can the Commission explain:
- 1.what evidence there is to indicate Menon’s involvement in and knowledge of its member’s financial misconduct;
- 2.whether it is aware of the detrimental effect their actions are having on SMEs like the TIHR, especially in terms of the premature termination of projects and the withholding of funds for work that has already been approved by the agency itself;
- 3.how it intends to support SMEs like the TIHR during this process?
