According to the European Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Coalition, Member States are not giving enough attention to life-threatening lung diseases. COPD is an irreversible and sometimes life-threatening condition that interferes with normal breathing and is affecting, according to the Coalition, one in 10 Europeans.

1. Is the Commission going to take the necessary steps to ensure that the ongoing problem is tackled?

2. What framework is the Commission planning on coming up with to improve the health, quality of life and well-being of people with the disease?
