Given the dwindling of Irish dune stocks within Special Areas of Conservation and the lack of improvement towards the attainment of good environmental status, as attested by the latest report submitted to the Commission, pursuant to Article 17 of Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora[1], what action is the Commission envisaging to prevent further erosion and appropriate information to the public with regard to the status of dune stocks and their respective Special Areas of Conservation?
