to the Commission (Vice-President/High Representative)
Rule 130
Marc Tarabella (S&D)
In Gaza, Hamas has trained 17 000 young people to fight in the name of the ‘resistance’. Over the course of a week, these adolescents and young adults learned how to handle arms from fighters of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam brigades, the very same brigades that faced the Israeli army last summer in a war that cost nearly 2 200 Palestinians their lives.
The armed wing of Hamas, which recently trained 17 000 young Gazans in combat, celebrated with great pomp the final promotion of this ‘avant-garde’, brandishing its ‘right to resistance’ where others talk of ‘indoctrination’.
What is the position of the High Representative?
