On 3 January 2015, Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasasbeh was burned alive by the radical ISIS group. On 3 February 2015, the video of his execution was released. Al-Kasasbeh was trapped in a cage and was set on fire while many soldiers stood by and watched. This is not the first barbaric incident or execution by ISIS, and it appears that it will probably not be the last.
This incident has outraged many people and nations, and, in response to this execution, Jordan has executed two Iraqi Islamist prisoners that they had captured some years before. Jordan has vowed to get revenge for the killing of their pilot by any means necessary.
1. Will the EU put pressure on the Government of Jordan to prevent it from retaliating in barbaric ways such as those practised by ISIS?
2. What measures can the EU take in order to supress ISIS and its gross injustices to humanity?
