Free movement of workers among the countries in the stabilisation and association programme

Question for written answer E-003104-15
to the Commission
Rule 130
Javier Couso Permuy (GUE/NGL)

In terms of the stabilisation and association programme for the Western Balkan countries, one of the European Union’s aims for this region is to foment regional cooperation.

According to the Treaties, ‘mutual concessions’ are envisaged in relation to the free movement of workers, services and capital among these countries.

What mutual concessions have been made to date?

Does the Commission not consider that such mutual concessions may exacerbate the present economic and social inequalities among the countries in the programme?
