Satellites in Europe's Galileo global navigation satellite system

Question for written answer E-004313-15
to the Commission
Rule 130
Evžen Tošenovský (ECR)

In August 2014, two of the Galileo satellites were placed in the wrong orbit upon release. As the Commission later reported, both satellites were successfully re-aligned to an alternative orbit, their instruments are fully functional, and the ESA is now assessing their potential future use.

Can the Commission clarify which specific scenarios are being considered?

Does the Commission believe that any of these scenarios poses a risk to the timeframe for the establishment of Galileo or the allocated budget?
