In April 2013, the Commission published a Green Paper on the insurance of natural and man-made disasters. The Commission acknowledged that catastrophes are on the rise while at the same time the EU is not making maximum use of the capacity and capabilities of the insurance industry to ensure against them. Therefore, is the Commission planning to introduce legislation on the harmonisation of insurance policies for man-made disasters at EU level?
