The EU funded the clean-up of coastal villages such as Bañugues (Gozón) in Asturias until at least 2010.

According to a complaint by Andecha Astur, despite the ongoing promises and projects, sewage is still being discharged today, directly into the intertidal zone at one end of the cove where the beach of Bañugues is located.

Similarly, several cases of unlawful drainage work can be found on farms in the SCI-SPA of Luanco-Cabo Bustos.

1. Is the Commission aware of these facts?

2. Has it taken any measures in respect of the sewage being discharged in the Bañugues area(Gozón)?

3. Has the Spanish Government informed the Commission of how soon it is going to solve the problem of illegal discharges into marine areas of major ecological importance, such as Bañugues?
