Decision of the Irish Management Authority for Leader

Question for written answer E-007065-15
to the Commission
Rule 130
Liadh Ní Riada (GUE/NGL)

The Irish Management Authority of the Leader programme has decided that the subregions under the 2014-2020 programme will correspond to local authority areas nationwide. Under previous programmes, some local action groups (LAGs) had been working across the boundaries of local authorities and would like to continue serving people in these areas.

Can the Commission clarify whether LAGs are prohibited from jointly implementing this programme in two subregions, or in parts of two subregions?

If they are prohibited from implementing the programme in such a manner, can the Commission comment on the negative impact that this will have on local development bodies which have historically served and are continuing to serve communities on both sides of local authorities' boundaries?
