The EU’s food distribution programme for the most deprived persons in the Union is described as an important source of provisions for organisations working in direct contact with the least fortunate people of our society.
It has been reported by the media that technical problems have prevented the government from rolling out a new EU aid programme for Malta’s most deprived since the last programme came to an end in February 2015. In the light of the fact that the end users are the most deprived persons:
- 1.Has the Commission been informed of such problems?
- 2.Has it set a deadline for the implementation of the programme?
- 3.What measures will it take, if any, to ensure that the programme is implemented without delay?
