The strategy for refugee citizens

Question for written answer E-010016-15
to the Commission
Rule 130
Daniel Buda (PPE)

We are witnessing the worst refugee crisis of our time, with millions of women, men and children struggling to survive in the context of brutal conflicts, of human trafficker networks and of governments that pursue selfish political interests instead of showing human compassion. According to Amnesty International, world leaders have abandoned millions of refugees, condemning them to an ‘unbearable existence’. In 2013, about 50 million people were forced to abandon their homes because of conflicts.

Is the Commission prepared to draw up a global strategy for managing the crisis related to the refugees, who mainly come from Syria, Nigeria, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, Eritrea and Burundi?
