Question for written answer
to the Commission
Rule 130
Kay Swinburne (ECR)

Subject:  Conservation of salmon and sea trout stocks
 Answer(s)

I was contacted recently by a constituent who is concerned about the depletion of salmon and sea trout stocks in rivers local to him in west Wales.

He has already been in touch with the relevant authorities to ask how they plan to tackle this problem locally; however he would also like to find out what conservation measures are in place to ensure the adequate preservation and management of stock levels for these species across the European Union.

Therefore, can the Commission please provide further details of any relevant European Union conservation measures, which may contribute to the preservation of salmon and sea trout stocks in our waters?
