Complementary and alternative medicine

Question for written answer E-011409-15
to the Commission
Rule 130
Marian Harkin (ALDE)

What steps does the Commission intend take to apply the following aspects of Council Decision 2010/707/EU to complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) professionals:

‘Member States must promote self-employment and entrepreneurship. They must foster job creation in the areas of care and green employment.’

‘Member States should also encourage labour mobility, namely through systems for recognising acquired competencies.’ ‘They must also foster […] the development of qualification frameworks enabling flexible learning pathways, and partnerships with enterprises.’

What steps will the Commission take to oblige Member States to appropriately regulate on a common European basis CAM practices and professionals according to their fields of action and to provide for equitable citizen access and for cross-border rights to practise?

What steps will it take to grant CAM professionals the legal right to work across the EU?
