The Russian Federation has implemented an embargo on various products from EU Member States. The Latvian market is strongly affected by the embargo, with local businesses suffering heavy losses.

1. What is the Commission’s plan as regards the provision of aid for companies facing losses as a result of the embargo?

2. What action is the Commission taking with a view to resolving the existing situation and having the embargo lifted?
