An agreement was recently signed in Vladivostok between the Russian Government and the companies BASF and E.ON (Germany), ENGIE (France), OMV (Austria) and Royal Dutch Shell (UK and the Netherlands) with a view to the Nord Stream consortium adding new lines to the Nord Stream gas pipeline. With that in mind:
- 1.Does the agreement comply with European energy legislation, in particular the rules laid down in the third energy package?
- 2.Will the new pipeline provided for in the agreement be subject to the strict conditions of the third energy package?
- 3.Is the current Nord Stream gas pipeline operating in line with the rules laid down in the third energy package?
