Almost 2 000 people gathered yesterday (14 October 2015) in Kyiv for a neo-Nazi march to mark the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (OUN-UPA).
The Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists-Ukrainian Insurgent Army of Stepan Bandera is one of the groups that most willingly collaborated with the Nazis during the Second World War. It operated mainly in the West of Ukraine, collaborating with the soldiers of the Third Reich in the fight against the Red Army. This extremist organisation is banned in Russia.
As for Ukraine, however, President Poroshenko has launched an appeal for the national education system to promote the ideals of the OUN-UPA to Ukrainian children.
How does the EU, which supports the government in Kyiv, feel about Ukraine's drift towards pro-Nazi policies?
