Member States and their regions and local authorities are currently being forced to deal with hugely increased numbers of refugees. Supplying accommodation to meet the needs of these refugees poses sometimes insurmountable organisational and financial problems.

Is the Commission already making European Structural and Investment (ESI) funds available to finance the construction of accommodation for refugees? If not, does it intend to do so in the future?
