Question for written answer
to the Commission
Rule 130
Ian Duncan (ECR)

Subject:  General Mills factory closure in Berwick
 Answer(s)

In October this year, General Mills inc. announced the possible closure of its factory in Berwick, which employs 265 people living in and around Berwick, both in England and Scotland.

Since then, local politicians John Lamont MSP, Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP and The Lord Callanan have sought to prevent the closure of the factory.

In light of the announcement, can the Commission state whether it has allocated money to any of General Mills’ production operations within the European Union?

If so, when was the money awarded, to which particular installation, how much was awarded, and for what reason?
