Potential alternative to Russian gas

Question for written answer E-015359-15
to the Commission
Rule 130
Victor Negrescu (S&D)

Given that Lithuania and the Baltic countries are the states most vulnerable to any potential disruption of the gas supply from the Russian side, Lithuania has started reducing its dependence on Russian gas as a primary source of energy. Lithuania is now building its own network of pipelines that extracts LP gas from Norway and further processes it in local Lithuanian refineries.

As this is an important alternative to Russian gas, does the Commission intend to undertake similar measures?
