In connection with the answer given on behalf of the Commission by Miguel Arias Cañete on 13 January 2016 to Written Question E-014575/2015 on energy consumption in the EU institutions’ buildings:
- 1.The Commission mentions a 1% energy saving target as part of its 2014 plan to cut energy consumption. Is that 1% to be understood as a continuous, annual saving, or is it a saving of 1% overall?
- 2.Why did the Commission wait until 2014 to comply with its own directive and bring in an energy-saving plan for its buildings, when the Energy Efficiency Directive entered into force back in 2012?
- 3.In its answer, the Commission states that it intends to launch a major renovation programme in 2019. Why wait until 2019?
