Reporting and evaluation of the progress made under the Danube Strategy

The comprehensive strategy for the Danube region, presented five years ago, set out a series of targets and the deadlines for achieving these. The Commission is responsible for reporting and evaluation in conjunction with the priority area coordinators. At the meeting of priority area coordinators for the EU Strategy for the Danube region held in Brussels on 14-15 January 2016, it was pointed out that the annual progress reports for 2015 contained differences in terms of the quality and quantity of information provided. The reports are not based on a uniform system of assessment indicators. At the same time, in 2015 it was decided that the targets in question should be assessed so as to enable proposals to be made for their review and adjustment. This presupposes that there is also a need to review the action plan on the strategy for the Danube region.
