While Member States have agreed on rules regarding border control, daily border management today varies from one Member State to another. This is the reason why the Commission announced a proposal on a ‘Union Standard for Border Management’ for 2016. According to the Commission, the aim is to secure a high and uniform standard in the control of all aspects of the Union’s external borders.
Can the Commission give more precise details regarding the timetable envisaged for this new proposal?
