Therese Comodini Cachia (PPE)

Although Europe is by large considered to have adequate water resources, some Member States such as Malta face water scarcity and difficulties in replenishing the natural water table.

1. What action is the Commission taking to assist such Member States in taking initiatives and measures that address difficulties which continue to worsen the situation of their water table, especially for those states whose coastlines pose a greater risk of harm to their water table?

2. What initiatives to protect or replenish the water table is the Commission now funding for Malta?
