Emergency evacuation plans for the EU institutions

Question for written answer E-003076-16
to the Commission
Rule 130
Jørn Dohrmann (ECR)

The terrorist attacks on 22 March 2016 took place uncomfortably close to the EU institutions, and in recent days the major transport problems that began in the wake of the attacks have continued: the airport in Zaventem is only now gradually starting to resume its operations, with extremely thorough security arrangements in place.

This situation is affecting the working lives of many thousands of members of staff at the EU institutions, who have found it hard to get home to their families.

In the event of another terrorist attack, does the Commission have an emergency evacuation plan for the institutions — including in the longer term?
