Question for written answer E-004051-16
to the Commission
Rule 130
Daniel Dalton (ECR)
Can the Commission provide an update on the current state of its legislative proposal to tackle unfair competition from non-EU airlines?
Many regional airports are anxious to have clarity on proposed changes to EC law in this area, having seen much of their growth in recent years come from third-country airlines serving the growing markets of the Middle and Far East, and developing these links has had an enormous benefit to regional economies, helping to grow exports and trade beyond our capital cities.
