to the Commission
Rule 130
Matt Carthy (GUE/NGL)
The European Union contributed greatly to the reunification of Germany in 1990 both socially and financially. It is clear from the Brexit result that the European Union must diversify and prepare itself to meet a changing political landscape.
The Commission is requested to answer the following:
- 1.How much funding was allocated to the reunification programme in Germany before and after 1990?
- 2.Given the EU commitment to the reunification of Cyprus, has a budget to support this programme been discussed?
- 3.If Ireland north and south were to hold a successful poll to reunify in the future, does the Commission see itself having a role in the reunification process?
