Highest early retirement pension
30.6.2016
Question for written answer E-005244-16
to the Commission
Rule 130
Richard Sulík (ECR)
As part of the second sub-question of parliamentary Question E-003179/2016, I asked about the highest early-retirement pension paid out to an EU official since 2011 (with or without a reduction). The Commission has not answered this question. In the answer to the first sub-question, which covered a different set of early-retirement pensions (without a reduction and greater than EUR 7000), the Commission stated that, since 2012, two officials have taken early retirement after meeting the relevant conditions and that EU data protection rules prevent it from disclosing the amount of their pensions. In its answer to a question put by the Committee on Budgetary Control on 6 February 2013 (SG.B.1/JP/D(2013), the Commission stated the amount of largest retirement pension paid out in 2012 without stating whether the official concerned had retired early or not. The Commission also stated that the Staff Regulations were revised after 2014.
In the light of the above information, I would like to ask the Commission to answer the following questions fully:
What is the largest early-retirement pension paid to an official since 2011?
What is the largest early-retirement pension paid to an official since 2014?
What is the largest early-retirement pension paid to an official aged less than 60 since 2014?
