According to media reports, heavy engines such as lifting cranes have been sited at Miġra l-Ferħa, which is both a protected Natura 2000 site and an important breeding area for Scopoli’s shearwater.

1. Has the Commission sought information from national authorities to ensure that the protection of the site for its ecological and environmental importance remains intact?

2. What action is the Commission taking to ensure that sites of this type are continuously monitored by national authorities?

3. Has the Commission identified sites of this type on which damage has occurred?
