The guidelines on state aid to airports and airlines have tightened criteria for providing state aid and significantly reduced the possibilities of Member States to invest in the infrastructure of state-owned airports.

Does the Commission intend to provide effective measures or instruments for Member States which seek to maintain small regional airports?

Does the Commission support the idea to subsidise the operations of small airports, especially, those which are vital for remote, less industrially developed regions?
