Assessment of cooperation in management of ESI funds

Question for written answer E-007566-16
to the Commission
Rule 130
Remo Sernagiotto (ECR)

Under the regulations setting out the rules for ESI funds and other EU programmes, the Member States and the Commission are responsible for ensuring coordination and complementarity between the different instruments. With this in mind, the Commission has produced a guide for policymakers and implementing bodies aimed at guaranteeing optimal synergy between the funds and maximising the impact and efficiency of public funding.

Aligning strategies on the use of EU funds, whether at Member State level or that of the Commission, is essential. EU networks, and the European Enterprise Network (EEN) in particular, have a key role to play in providing businesses, authorities and citizens with support and information on EU programmes, funding and opportunities.

— What is the state of play concerning implementation of EU instruments managed directly by the Commission in order to promote synergies in regard to ESI funds through, for example, advisory and assistance services offered by EEN and the relevant national contact points?

— How does the Commission plan to promote and improve cooperation between all parties with an interest in EU funds and programmes?
