CETA: provisional application of a mixed agreement

The Commission has already announced that it will decide in the coming weeks whether CETA will be an EU-only or a mixed agreement.

1. If the Commission does make CETA a mixed agreement, could it be implemented provisionally once it has been ratified by the European Parliament, but before the national parliaments have done so?

2. Would a mixed CETA agreement continue to be implemented if a national parliament voted against it, and unless the European Council took a unanimous decision to the contrary?
