On 14 September, the Commission published its proposal ‘WIFI4EU’. Under the proposal, EUR 120 million would be allocated for the purpose of creating free WiFi connections in public places and public buildings.

1. Has the Commission calculated how many people could potentially use these connections?

2. How will the Commission assess whether ‘WIFI4EU’ is not competing with the private market?
