Olive oil is an original product in many European regions, and its medicinal properties and role in a healthy diet are both undisputed and scientifically proven. According to the current Regulation, bulk sales of olive oil are not allowed, although it is possible to regulate them in a way that guarantees both oil quality and consumer protection. Many salespeople claim that supplying olive oil directly to buyers, that is, bulk sales, has a positive impact on increasing sales volumes.

Today, there is a positive practice of bulk sales of milk and natural juices in the EU. Has the Commission considered enabling bulk sales of olive oil in order to guarantee both oil quality and consumer protection?
