E-001215-17
Question for written answer
to the Commission
Rule 130
Syed Kamall (ECR)

 Subject:  European Space Agency
 Answer(s)

I have been contacted by a constituent who has concerns about European Space Agency (ESA) land in the Belgian Ardennes. My constituent feels that: ‘this land is not being used by the ESA itself, but rather the ESA is now letting it, for a substantial fee, to private enterprise to place their own satellites’.

Could the Commission please clarify:
What the ESA intends to do with the land?
Whether this land is being let out to a private company for their own satellite usage instead of being used solely by the ESA?
