to the Commission
Rule 130
Fabio De Masi (GUE/NGL)
According to reports in the media (http://diepresse.com/home/wirtschaft/eco1848/5180485/Italien-will-mit-Flat-Tax-reiche-Steuerzahler-locken oder http://www.nachdenkseiten.de/?p=37410), Italy is planning to introduce a flat-rate tax of EUR 100 000 for wealthy foreigners. This is a further example of harmful tax competition, whose only beneficiaries are the affluent individuals concerned.
What view does the Commission take of the introduction of this tax, given that it publicly opposes harmful tax competition?
What measures will the Commission take to tackle such harmful tax competition?
