One of the key aims of the Commission’s 2007 Strategy for Europe on Nutrition, Overweight, and Obesity-related health issues has been to provide guidance for national authorities and NGOs in improving the health of Europeans. The strategy identifies a number of issues that arise from obesity. Overall it is a very positive programme, facilitating a basis for the exchange of information and best practices between authorities in the sector.

1. Does the Commission expect a review of the 2007 strategy to include more recent trends and information in Europe?

2. Does it believe that the strategy has been well implemented by the relevant actors in the Member States, including by both state and non-state authorities?
