E-001960-17
Question for written answer
to the Commission
Rule 130
Ashley Fox (ECR)

 Subject:  Otter cull
 Answer(s)

I have been made aware, by one of my constituents, of permission being granted by the authorities of Lower Austria to cull 40 otters.

As you know, otters are offered complete protection under the European Union’s Habitats Directive.

Is the Commission aware of this proposed course of action?

What data have been provided to support such action and what steps is the Commission proposing to ensure that the government of Lower Austria adheres to the relevant EU legislation?
