Media concentration and political and economic power in the Member States

The question I am putting to the Commission relates to a problem that is not new, but which is nonetheless still very important: namely, that media, political and economic power in the Member States is concentrated in the hands of a few people.

In my view, this state of affairs endangers the principles of the functioning of a democratic society. More than two years later, could the Commission say whether this negative trend is getting worse, and whether it intends to respond to this issue or its associated phenomena with legislation?
